Our Background

Wakulima Commercial Sacco Limited formerly Wakulima Dairy Sacco Limited was registered on 24th September 2003 under the Ministry of Co-operative Development and Marketing with an objective in offering financial assistance to dairy farmer of the entire Mukurwe-ini region. The Sacco began its operation in March 2004 with an interim committee of 7 members who were later confirmed to office in February 2005 offering both front office (FOSA) and back office services (FOSA) with the majority shareholders being the dairy farmers of Wakulima Dairy Company Limited. (MWDL) formerly Mukurwe-ini Dairy Self Help Group.

Majority shareholders and membership of Mukurwe-ini Wakulima Commercial Sacco Limited comprises of Dairy farmers from larger Nyeri county region and also from other nearby counties. Currently the SACCO have over 15,000 active members derived from Dairy Farmers, Coffee Farmers as well as Salaried people and other sectors of the economy. With an Asset Base of over Ksh 800M and Ksh 750M loan portifolio the society strive to be one of the best financial institution in the region.

The Society is managed by 7 Directors and 3 supervisory Directors under the leadership of Chairman Hon. Muhika Mutahi who are elected by members during our Annual General Meetings.
